Dawn Sopron, LCSW is a psychotherapist and therapeutic Yoga teacher in Sheridan, WY. For almost 25 years, her passion has been helping people recover from depression and anxiety through trauma healing. She has worked in a variety of settings, including hospitals, mental health clinics, home health care, and hospice, plus running a private counseling practice since 1993. She relocated from Chicago to Sheridan in 2006 and provides individual, family, and couples psychotherapy to clients at her office, Clay Pot Counseling, Inc.
Now through Clay Pot Yoga, she is sharing her extensive training in the therapeutic applications of Yoga. She is registered with the Yoga Alliance (RYT-500) and certified by Surya Chandra Healing Yoga School (CYT-700 hours). She teaches weekly Healing Yoga for Trauma and Anxiety classes and provides business trainings on the topics of Work Fatigue and User-Friendly Yoga for Stress Management. In addition, she has taught Mantra Movement Meditation classes for 10 Yoga retreats at One Spirit Retreat Center outside of Deadwood, S. Dakota. Since 2014, she began offering THE SOUND OF HEALING retreats throughout the Mountain States region with her co-teacher, singer-songwriter, Kate Baum.
Singer, songwriter, and storyteller Kate Baum received her MA in Linguistics, Composition, and Rhetoric from South Dakota State University in 2003. She then moved with her family to Alaska, where she taught literature and writing for 9 years. In August of 2012, they moved home to SD, where they now own an antique store on Main Street in Sturgis called Prairie Emporium. She uses her expertise in writing, storytelling, and musical performance to inspire transformation in herself and others, and now incorporates her workshop, Lyrics for Healing, into THE SOUND OF HEALING Weekend Retreats.
